The Wings of Hope Achievement Awards 2023/2024 programme has already kicked off, and some of the initial round of signed-up teams attended their first workshops (free of cost) to help them with their WOHAA journey.
On Sunday 29th October 2023, at the world-renowned London Business School, 50 WOHAA students and teams joined us for The Wings of Hope Kickstarter Day.
The first cohort of WOHAA students came from over 14 different schools and were greeted by their mentors from across the country.
The afternoon workshop started with an introduction from founders Dr R. Sri Ram, Rajni Sriram, and Smruti Sriram, and London Business School Masters students.
“Well done for showing up, this is the first step for any process in any project. You have already shown great skills in commitment, tenacity, and willingness to learn”, said Smruti Sriram.
Project Management Framework – The 5 W + H
Students did ice-breaker exercises hosted by the London Business School students and were then given a Project Framework to help them plan, and execute their WOHAA projects.
The teams were sat in tables with their mentors and brainstormed project ideas, how they would request donations, and permissions to carry out their fundraising projects.
The 2 hour workshop was filled with essential skills training in project planning, and talked about the highs and lows that the students may encounter on their immersive WOHAA journeys.
We are delighted to see this new cohort of WOHAA students have lots of creative ideas, and our mentors are on-hand to support them along the way.
WOHAA mentors are well-trained in supporting the students, and we are grateful for our partnership with London Business School and the Volunteering Club and the mentors from King’s College London
