At WOHAA, we offer our students the chance to have a dedicated mentor to help guide them throughout the WOHAA journeys, as well as professional mentors who volunteer their time to host online/in-person workshops for our students.
We use Microsoft Teams for our WOHAA mentoring sessions, allowing for dynamic interaction through chat where mentors are available to answer questions and discuss upcoming events. All online sessions are recorded, ensuring that everything is remembered and that teachers can receive important updates about their students’ progress.
Throughout the year, we host WOHAA Accelerator Days for WOHAA teams. These days provide students with the opportunity to meet members of the WOHAA team in person and connect with peers from different schools embarking on their own WOHAA journeys.
We also offer a variety of handy resources designed to support our teams in their initiatives.
Skill Development Through Mentorship
Participating in WOHAA helps students enhance their transferable skills, including time management and independence. However, organising events can be challenging, and knowing where to begin is often the first hurdle. That’s where our mentors come in!
Our mentors are friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable. Each WOHAA team is paired with a mentor or a pair of mentors who provide guidance from the initial stages of a team’s WOHAA journey to executing their events. They offer support when challenges arise and encourage resilience throughout the process; all while having support from the Senior Management Team.
Mentoring is a vital component of the WOHAA programme, bolstered by our partnership with the prestigious London Business School as well as the many professional mentors who offer FREE online workshops for our teams throughout the year.
This collaboration ensures that students receive expert advice on business strategy. Our professional mentors hail from top universities and possess a wealth of experience across various professional sectors, all while being passionate advocates for student empowerment.
Importantly, mentoring is a reciprocal relationship. These mentors often express admiration for the innovative ideas generated by WOHAA students and feel privileged to contribute to their growth. Many have noted that the experience gained through mentoring has impressed potential employers during interviews with well-known corporations.
