Wings of Hope Speed Mentoring 2025
On Sunday 1st June 2025, we were delighted to host the 13th annual edition of Wings of Hope Speed Mentoring.
Wings of Hope Speed Mentoring is a flagship event of the Wings of Hope Children’s Charity for the student participants of the Wings of Hope Achievement Award, or WOHAA.
Over the course of an afternoon, over 40 industries were represented by young professional mentors, to support and give insight into the future of careers for 13 – 18 year olds.
Please find the mentor profiles beneath to read.

We were delighted to have keynote speeches from Dr. R. Sri Ram. and Mrs. Rajni Sriram, co-founders of the Wings of Hope Children’s Charity, as well as Mr. Rupert Daniel, Director of Services for the Department of Business and Trade, representing the UK government and the industries in the creative sectors, sport, technology, culture and education.
Over the course of two hours, students were given the opportunity to ask any questions to the mentors, unfiltered, and the ability to understand more about the ups and downs of going into careers: from choices around subjects for GCSEs and A-levels, to whether choosing a path through university or apprenticeships.
Mentors gave honest and open advice, which was valued highly by the students.
We hope to have more workshops and events across the 2025 calendar and look for more mentoring support.
Reflections on the Visit
Grace, WOHAA Winner 2023/24, shared:
“These students embraced learning as a gift to be shared and enjoyed, as their creative and sophisticated work blew me away on every occasion. Both the school and the tuition centre were brimming with success, and it shone through into every area of school life: their attitude to learning; the projects they pursued; and their characters of integrity, kindness and respect. I am honoured to have experienced and contributed to such wonderful people.”
Martha, WOHAA Winner 2023/24, expressed:
“Visiting the school and the tuition centre was such an amazing opportunity; hearing the students speak with such passion about their studies was truly inspiring. The teachers were very kindhearted people and I admired their dedication to giving these students the education they deserve. I am so grateful to have been a part of this experience and see, firsthand, how much intelligence and drive these young individuals hold.”
Sarah Hogg, Senior Programme Manager, reflected:
“As a former educator, witnessing the students’ passion for learning was truly humbling. Their eagerness to absorb knowledge, despite the challenges they face, was a powerful reminder of the transformative impact of education. Seeing their enthusiasm and determination reaffirmed the importance of the work being done to support their futures—it was an experience I will carry with me for a long time.”
Mrs. Rajni Sriram, CEO & Co founder
“I have been bringing Overall WOHAA Winners to Chennai for so many years, and I am amazed at the transformational change that our UK School students have made to the lives of these students both at the School as well as the Slum Tuition Project. “
