Fundraisers

We are a group of 5 Year 12 girls and have decided to raise money for the Wings of Hope charity. We have chosen to take on this challenge as we are girls with the privilege of access to education. We find ourselves lucky, unlike so many struggling around the world, and we believe it is our duty to use this privilege to work towards change for the less fortunate.

The wings of hope stood out to us for its commitment to children in less fortunate ways of life. Seeing the difference the organization was making in the lives of individuals and communities inspired us deeply. At first, charity work seemed so distant to us and any meaningful change would have to be completed by large international organizations. However, this organisation has helped us to firstly, make a local difference in the community, but also help people across the globe at a large scale which is why we are inspired to help make a change from home and have a great time doing it!

We are a group of four aspirational individuals who wish to raise money to support those who haven't been given opportunities that we take for granted.

Joining WOHAA aids our group to comprehend the wider conflicts around the world that concern education, such as children in India and Malawi. Our group formulated our thoughts in understanding that education should not be a privilege.

We chose to join WOHAA as we wanted to help children in Malawi and India to experience the joys of learning and to better their future. We hope that our efforts will have a positive impact on these children.

We are a dedicated group of students who strive to make changes to people’s lives, no matter how big or small. As busy as we may be in our lives, we wish to use the privilege that we have to help others as much as we can; be that the global or local community. Ensuring that everybody has basic necessities is an essential goal that must be achieved in order to be one step closer to having a fairer society - as a team of strong-headed women, we wish to play our part in striving to achieve this goal.

After reading the struggles of children in third-world countries and their lack of progression to higher education, we as a team of dreamers anticipated that they deserve the same opportunities that we get, living in London. Participating in WOHAA, we hope to raise money to make a difference and aid them through serene journeys.

In the UK, we discuss human rights alongside the call to support anyone deprived of education due to external factors. I'm sure all of us feel that it is our responsibility to assist, as much as we can, those who are not as privileged as us. We are providing you with that opportunity by giving you the chance to donate to Team Bridge, a student group from St Olaves Grammar School. We want to provide education to children in India and Malawi - a basic human right, and a Sustainable Development Goal.
