On Sunday, 28th January, we had our 2nd Accelerator Day for the 2023-24 year at the London Business School (LBS). LBS is ranked amongst the world’s best business schools, and we are grateful to have a close partnership with them.
We welcomed students in Years 9-12 from over 10 different schools branching across the London area for an afternoon of
discussions on curating projects, team building exercises, and inspiring talks from Rajni Sriram (Wings of Hope co-founder) and the LBS volunteer committee.
Our students had the opportunity to present what their teams have been working on in their WOHAA journey so far. Others were exploring new ideas and how to make them happen.
After finishing an activity on the 5 W’s + H (who, what, when, where, why, and how) of creating an event led by Sarah Hogg (our Senior Schools’ Programme Manager),
students from Team KEMA spoke of the funds they have already raised in their journey so far, making sure to note it is over £1,000 !
Having the opportunity to be in the same space with so many of our students, we were able to witness how they have grown into true leaders and entrepreneurs of their generation.
Team Sister Strength from St. Cecilia’s say, "This is our second time coming to the Accelerator Day, and we had so much fun. We liked that we had the chance to speak in front of the other students that were there, and we learned a lot about how we can strategize and work together to run successful fundraising projects."
We closed the afternoon with the LBS volunteer committee sharing their journey with the students, reminding them to take risks and follow their heart.
