Wings of Hope are offering free assembly presentations at schools!
The Wings of Hope team are currently taking bookings to visit school assemblies. We would be delighted to come and tell students all about our Wings of Hope Achievement Award scheme (WOHAA) which is a completely free social enterprise scheme offered to students in years 9 – 13.
The students (in teams of 6) are challenged to fundraise in lots of wonderfully wacky ways – the more creative and innovative the better! Along the way, all students have the opportunity to attend skills workshops with our corporate partners to provide them with insight into different industries and help them think about their own careers.
Teams are then shortlisted to present their achievements at the House of Lords in front of a panel of esteemed judges, including Sir David Jason from Only Fools and Horses and Executive Directors from our corporate supporters.
The winners of the 6 awards on offer will then be announced at our glitzy award ceremony at Wembley Stadium. The overall first prize is an incredible, all-expenses-paid trip to India to visit one of our international projects! This is a fantastic opportunity that makes this award scheme completely unique – young people have a chance to see the whole charitable process from start to finish, from raising the funds to seeing where it is spent. Other prizes include work experience placements with our corporate partners. What’s more, students are eligible to apply for the WOHAA bursary to help them fund their further education.
The scheme fits in perfectly with PSHE, citizenship, CoPE, DofE volunteering, CAS section of the IB, the AQA Baccalaureate and more!
