We support the Jacaranda Primary and Secondary School for Orphans, the only entirely free school in Malawi by helping cover the cost of some of the teachers’ salaries. Jacaranda School provides entirely free education, nutrition and health care to orphans from primary school until completion of secondary school. The school then provides scholarships to its graduates to attend college in Malawi. Jacaranda School has also outreach programs such as home support, whereby the most impoverished students’ families receive monthly food items. Jacaranda School also offers music, arts and craft and vocational education projects to its 400 orphan students.
Jacaranda School for Orphans is a grassroots project with a holistic approach that intends to provide everything a child needs to grow healthy, graduate from school, go to college and then find qualified employment in Malawi and take part in the development of the country.
